The following is an article I wrote and was published in ROAR magazine in October 2021

When we know that we have the power to co create with spirit then we can trust what occurs.  We know that we aren’t navigating through life alone but with someone who has our best interest - who has our back”.

We are never truly alone.  Even during the darkest times when life is burdened with drama or il-intention from others or we have spiraled into the darkest places. We can ask for help.  We have allies.  We never need to struggle or feel as if we are steering the ship on our life’s journey alone.  We can co-create with Spirit.  We can ask and we can receive what is best for us.

In my early 30’s, single and without children, I was struggling to find the right relationship.  I always thought that I would be  living in a nice home and raising a family by then.  Instead I was living back at my parent’s home after yet, another failed relationship.  My mom had passed away 15 years prior.  I felt somewhat alone and lost.

I had begun a yoga practice a few years earlier and my then teacher spoke about Reiki.  I decided to have a Reiki session done.  I had never heard of Reiki but I was interested in all things metaphysical so I decided to give it a try.  I felt ‘nudged’ to do it.

During the session and in a half-meditative state, I saw an image of my late mother come to me with her hands cupped.  Slowly she opened them and showed me 2 baby bottles.  From that point on I knew that I was going to have twins.  And guess what? I did about 8 years later.  Identical ones at that.    Coincidence?  Not really? Sign from spirit…absolutely.

The times when you go against your own intuition or inner knowing are times when you may encounter life lessons.

I've been thinking about my life a lot lately.  Revisiting pockets of time when I may not have made the right choices or when I could have lived my life differently. When I thought that the grass was greener on the other side only to eventually realize that it wasn’t.  These are lessons that I had to learn. I don't have regrets because regrets won't get me anywhere.

Regrets are illusions created by ego as a way to make us feel badly about our life’s path.  But I don’t do regrets.  I know that I wouldn't be where I am right now, with an amazing family, and in alignment with my true calling if it weren't for all of the twists and turns that my life took.

It’s hard to trust that life will turn out well when you’re going through those twists and turns.  Pausing and reminding yourself that you can co-create your life or that you are exactly where you need to be can be comforting.  It can prevent you away from diving deeper into any ‘regrets’ that may surface.

We all have an inner knowing. A feeling deep within that we can tap into.  When we become comfortable and trust these feelings we can live with less anxiety and more inner peace knowing that we are being divinely guided.

But there may be times when we question these feelings.  Identifying why can be pivotal in moving forward.  What makes us go against that inner knowing or feeling?  It can be a desire to fit in or a longing to feel loved.  Perhaps its ego or our inner voice saying that we’re not good enough and it is nudging us in a direction that may not be in alignment with our goals? Or is it a matter of trust?  Trusting that what we are feeling, hearing, knowing will lead us in the right direction. Trust that spirit has your back.

When I am looking for guidance on something, I pause and check in.  I tune into the feeling within my own body.  Do I feel a twinge in my gut?  Does my breathing change into a more quicker rhythm?  Does my solar plexus burn or does it feel bright?  Does the back of my neck tingle?  Knowing how to proceed can be as simple as tuning into how the body feels.  Awareness of what lies within us can help us move forward in the direction that is most auspicious - or for our greatest and highest good.

Symbols can also be a message.  The same numbers showing up repeatedly.  A feather or the message on an oracle card.  These external signs serve as validation from spirit.  Just like the 2 baby bottles that were shown to me during a Reiki session.  You are divinely guided.  Whether you hear voices, see symbolic gestures or know within your heart you are co-creating with spirit.  Believing that spirit is around you can be comforting.

Spirits come in many form

How one defines spirit is unique to themselves.  Spirit can be angels, saints, animals, ancestors or beings that never walked the earth.  It can be a team or a counsel that walk with you on your path.  We don’t have one.  We have many.

The most important thing to understand is that spirit always has your back.  They will always be here to guide you.  To co-create with you as long as you ask.  You may not get guidance in the exact form that you expected.  Spirit knows what is best for you and will provide you with the right form at the right time.  All you need to do is trust.  Trust that you are being divinely guided.

Trust the Journey

Co-creating with spirit isn't about having all the answers or never facing challenges. It's about remembering that you're supported, guided, and never truly alone on your path. Whether through your body's wisdom, symbolic messages, or that quiet inner knowing, spirit is constantly communicating with you.

The key is learning to listen, trust, and surrender to the process. Your life's twists and turns aren't mistakes—they're part of a larger design unfolding perfectly for your growth and highest good. When you embrace this partnership with spirit, you can navigate life's uncertainties with greater peace, knowing that you're being lovingly guided every step of the way.

The next time you feel lost or uncertain, pause and remember: you have the power to co-create with spirit. Ask for guidance, pay attention to the signs, and trust what you receive. Your spiritual allies are always there, ready to support you in creating a life aligned with your soul's purpose.
