End of an Era - Grace Period

This past weekend the end of a long running monarchy occured with the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. Although the monarchy isn't what it once was when she first began ruling, it is still symbolic. She was the Queen. She symbolized strength, abundance, leadership, nurturing, and grace. In many ways, she encompassed the positive qualities of each of the Queen cards in a Tarot deck.
I feel that we also capture all of these qualities within the roles they play in their families, in their work, and in their lives. We manage our own little kingdoms.
And, just like the monarchy transitions to a new ruler, King Charles III, we too find ourselves transitioning to other roles as our kingdom changes. Perhaps we started a new job, our kids go to college (mine did), someone in our lives is sick and we need to take care of them. Whatever that transition is, we need to give ourselves a 'Grace Period' to adjust and to understand how we can shift our energy to accommodate the new roles we may need to take on. There are many definitions of the word 'Grace' but I like to refer to it as "a period or space in time that we give ourselves the time needed to rest and restore our inner balance, therefore creating inner harmony".

I work with many people who are recognizing a need to give themselves more space to heal. They may not know exactly what needs to be healed but they recognize that they feel 'off' or 'uncertain' of their path. Perhaps they recognize that the role they play now isn't the one they want to continue to play and that they a new 'script'.
Now what?? What happens when we want to change but may not know which way to go, or what to do, or maybe we're just nervous or afraid.
These are all 'normal' thoughts and feelings that may arrive. The fear of re-writing the script of part of your life may feel daunting and scary. But it doesn't have to be. It's a 'perception' that we have brought into our own minds. A perception that we may fail, not be good enough or are 'too old to try something new'. Blasphemy, I say!
Do you think that the Queen would think that? Not so, she reigned, she conquered, she changed with the times and she moved forward despite any of the ups and downs that occurred during her 70 year reign.
So, as ruler of your own personal kingdom, I say that you can do anything you want. If you want to try something different DO IT!. Don't let fear or worry or lack of confidence stop you. These are all illusions. Don't let opportunities pass you by. They may change your life.
Remember... Keep Calm and Carry On.
